449 NORTH SKYEWIAY ROAD, LOS ANGELES, CA | $2,750,000 | 2 BD | 1 BA
The Sturges Residence, 1939 by Frank Lloyd Wright. The George Sturges House is a single-story house, designed by celebrated architect Frank Lloyd Wright and built for George D. Sturges in Brentwood Heights; It is the first time it’s been available in nearly 50 years.
This home is a masterpiece of American design and has been often compared to Wright’s most famous project: The Kaufmann Residence, also known as Fallingwater.
Designated as Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #577 in May 1993, this is the only sample of Wright’s Usonian architecture in California.
Balanced on a double lot, this iconic structure consists of an open and inviting living room, a downstairs bonus room and a wrap-around deck that offers some treetop and city views.
One of Los Angeles’s most unique homes, the landmark is made entirely out of concrete, steel, brick and redwood, and also features an expansive 21-foot deck with a fantastic panoramic wrap-around deck.
Renowned architect John Lautner was selected to supervise the original construction, and later in 1970, was appointed to restore the residence.
