250 TRINO WAY, PACIFIC PALISADES, CA | $5,495,000 | 3 BD | 5 BA
Richard Neutra’s Hees House, 1950, sited along the Pacific coast. The Hees House enables its owner seaside living in an exemplary mid-century context.
The gated garden entry creates its own sense of secrecy and transforms into the surprise of ocean and island views encasing the interior.
The sprawling glass walls parallel the ocean and slide across the terrazzo floors opening the public rooms to the broad terrace, grass and gardens.
The architect’s signature fireplace separates the large living room from the dining room.
An open master suite includes its own terrace and bathroom.
The guest house features a kitchenette, living room, bedroom and two bathrooms. This special home on a spectacular site is also in a convenient location.

The actor Gene Raymond lived her in 1996 when I did restoration work on the house. I replaced the saloon entry (to garden) mahogany door. Rebuilt the swing mech. Redid the soffits around the house. There is a great little anti-room between the entry and the guest powder/bath. Very original.
