We know the time capsule phrase gets bandied around a bit too much. But we think you'll agree, this Beverly Hills architectural home is quite the specimen. Original rugs, wall coverings and sculptures are ever present while perusing thru this home. We applaud the owners for perfecting the intersection of luxury and mid-century over the past 60 years. And, we can finally have that pink and green bathroom.
When we think post and beam, Buff and Hensman are usually the first to come to mind. Here's a fine example from them in Pasadena. The Saltman Residence, 1962. Built by Buff and Hensman and thoughtfully restored and updated by the current owners this quintessential California home has all the character of a Post and Beam with today's modern conveniences.
We saw the pictures of this one before it was renovated. This architectural home in the Beverly Crest neighborhood appeared to be sorely neglected. It was brought back to life by Hollis and Jordyn Design Studio over the past year. Lots of original details mixed with new materials make for a stunning property.
We must confess that John Lautner may be our favorite modernist architect. His designs were unique and very identifiable as his. He did a masterful job of combining materials to soften some of the perceived "coldness" of the modern structures. Here's a one of his smaller designs in the Hollywood Hills.
Here's what dreams are made of. Well, at least our dreams. This stunning example of the Hollywood Regency style by noted architect Elgin Woolf couldn't be closer to perfection. Elegance and sophistication are the foundation of this home. The European styled garden by Nord Eriksson is exquisite. Perhaps we'll get invited to a black-tie affair here one day.
Welcome to 6371 Orange Street. From the curb appeal of this classic Spanish 1930’s duplex to the period detail interiors, this property is loaded with charm. Enter the Art Deco doorways and discover the building’s prominent exterior carved archways are graciously repeated inside separating the common areas.
Another excellent architectural in Trousdale Estates. This exceptional example of a mid-century home has a plenty to love. Whether it is the gorgeous woodwork, the terrazzo flooring or the walls of glass, this home delivers. The generous size pool caps off the tour. We're hoping for an invite to the next BBQ.
Luxury houses are in no short supply on Rising Glen. This modernized mid-century is the personification of understated elegance. These original clean lines coupled with a sophisticated renovation make a beautiful match.
