We love good L.A. history. And, this one is quite a doozy. The family that ran the Los Angeles Times for decades wielded a powerful hand in shaping the city as we know it today. We’d recommend this documentary for anyone who calls L.A their home.

And, we can finally have that pink and green bathroom.

When we think post and beam, Buff and Hensman are usually the first to come to mind. Here's a fine example from them in Pasadena. The Saltman Residence, 1962. Built by Buff and Hensman and thoughtfully restored and updated by the current owners this quintessential California home has all the character of a Post and Beam with today's modern conveniences.
BEVERLY CREST THE HUNTER HOME

We saw the pictures of this one before it was renovated. This architectural home in the Beverly Crest neighborhood appeared to be sorely neglected. It was brought back to life by Hollis and Jordyn Design Studio over the past year. Lots of original details mixed with new materials make for a stunning property.

We must confess that John Lautner may be our favorite modernist architect. His designs were unique and very identifiable as his. He did a masterful job of combining materials to soften some of the perceived "coldness" of the modern structures. Here's a one of his smaller designs in the Hollywood Hills.
PASADENA HOLLYWOOD REGENCY STYLE BY ELGIN WOOLF

Here's what dreams are made of. Well, at least our dreams. This stunning example of the Hollywood Regency style by noted architect Elgin Woolf couldn't be closer to perfection. Elegance and sophistication are the foundation of this home. The European styled garden by Nord Eriksson is exquisite. Perhaps we'll get invited to a black-tie affair here one day.
