BEVERLY HILLS HOMES

Opulent. Glamourous. Fashionable. Beverly Hills is filled with classic architecture, luxurious shopping and palm-tree lined streets. Although the name suggests hillside living, most of the homes are actually in the flats.

One exception is the hillside Trousdale Estates section of the neighborhood, which is filled with some of the best and most opulent mid-century modernist architectural homes in the city. Developed in the 1960s by Paul Trousdale, the development was touted as “A life above it all…” with unobstructed views of the city below – attracting celebrities and socialites alike who commissioned some of the best twentieth century architectural icons to design and decorate their homes, Hal Levitt, A. Quincy Jones, Wallace Neff, Richard Neutra, Paul Williams and Lloyd Wright among them.
