The Sunset Strip Wolff Residence by John Lautner, AIA
The mid-century Sunset Strip Wolff Residence, built-in 1961 by internationally famous Los Angeles-based architect John Lautner, AIA.
Employing stone, glass, and copper, this residence is one of the best representations of Lautner’s mid-century masterpieces, and one of his “Favorite Five” commissions.
The living room on the top floor of The Wolff Residence is wrapped by two 16-foot walls of glass, bringing in views of Los Angeles and beyond.
Outside on the terrace, a monumental eucalyptus crosses all floors, partially embraced by a side rock wall as tall as the entire residence. The master bedroom, underneath the living room, features its own terrace with dynamic panoramic views.
The bottom floor boasts a sparkling pool that allows you to float away from the residence and gaze down upon the buzzing city below.
The Wolff Residence shares a copper-lined roof with the adjoining Guest House, commissioned in 1970, which offers three rooms/bedrooms and two full bathrooms. This magnificent work of art offers both privacy and inspires creativity.
